Republic of Moldova will share Georgia's experience in view of the institutional framework of human right protection. Delegation from Moldova has visited Georgia for a study tour with this specific aim. It will study in detail the practices deployed by the Inter-Agency Council on Human Rights Protection and Human Rights Secretariat of the Government Administration. Focus has been made at the bilateral meetings on the topics related to the development and implementation process of the National Strategy and Government Action Plan on Human Rights Protection.

Within the scope of the visit, Moldovan Delegation held meetings with representatives of various public institutions. Reforms implemented by the Government of Georgia for the protection of human rights in the country, along with the future plans have been stressed at the meeting with the Head of the Government Administration. Delegation members also met with officials of the Public Defender's (Ombudsman's) Office and Personal Data Protection Inspector's Office to discuss the cooperation with independent monitoring bodies operating in Georgia. Delegation members obtained detailed information during meetings held with international organizations on the support provided to the country by the international community. It was noted that Georgia benefits from this type of assistance within the reform agenda aimed at the protection of human rights in the country.

Moldovan colleagues scrutinized in detail the aspects related to the human rights protection within the Government Administration agenda. Delegation members were exposed to information on the coordination of public institutions and successful cooperation practices deployed with stakeholders. In addition, delegation members held meetings with non-government organizations (NGOs) operating in Georgia.

Government of the Republic of Moldova plans to develop its Action Plan for the Protection of Human Rights in 2017 on the grounds of Georgia's experience. Country committed to develop the action plan after the Second Cycle of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) in November of the current year. As a result of the referred process, Republic of Moldova received 175 recommendations from various countries. Government of Moldova plans to incorporate this input into its Action Plan and to establish an inter-departmental facility to coordinate the implementation of the Action Plan.

International conference was held in Chișinău, capital of Moldova in November of the current year with an aim of sharing the best international practice of commitments made and adhered to by national authorities. Representatives of the Human Rights Secretariat of the Government Administration of Georgia presented the country's experience, policy documents and institutional framework on the protection of human rights within the scope of the referred event. Moldova decided to plan a study tour to Georgia after the event. Government of Georgia expressed keen interest in continuing a technical support and assistance to Moldova for the development of policy documents and institutional framework on human rights protection at the bilateral meetings held within the scope of the visit.
