22 April 2015 The citizens' degree of freedom is increased in Georgia and specific facts can demonstrate it - was the Public Defender, Ucha Nanuashvili's statement made at the Government Administration, during the meeting with the Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili.

A report on the Georgian Government's two-year activities was discussed today at a working meeting with representatives of non-governmental organisations, chaired by Head of the Government Administration Maia Tskitishvili.

Discussions focused on the Report's review of human rights situation, civil service reforms and the justice system. The Head of the Government Administration, representatives of the Human Rights Protection Secretariat and the Deputy Ministers shared their opinions with the members of the non-governmental organizations.

According to Maia Tskitishvili, the Government of Georgia appreciates constructive co-operation with the non-governmental sector, a further proof of which is the meeting held today at the initiative of the Human Rights Protection Secretariat and the Government Service of Plans and Innovations under the Government Administration.

Members of the non-governmental organizations found as acceptable a part of opinions expressed by representatives of the government, which, according to them, will be duly reflected in the Report. They welcomed the given format of communication with the Government as it provides an effective way for the exchange of views. The parties agreed to hold similar meetings in the future as well.
