Intern
Elene Shonia has been doing an internship at the Human Rights Secretariat since September 2020. Elene received her bachelor's degree in law from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in 2019. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Public Law at Eastern European University.
In 2017-2018, Elene worked on civil and administrative disputes in a law firm and was also assistant to the Head of the Legal Clinic of the Tbilisi Humanitarian University.
In 2018-2020 she worked as an intern at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia and at the Tbilisi City Court.
Elene has attended a raft of training in various fields of law; her areas of interest are gender equality, women and domestic violence, as well as the rights of internally displaced persons and people affected by hostilities as she is originally from the occupied territory of Abkhazia.
